Why I started Data Focus Consulting and what it's given me in return

When I launched Data Focus Consulting, it wasn’t just about building a business. It was about building a life that worked on my terms—professionally, strategically, and personally.

After years of working within structured environments, I saw a gap: businesses drowning in data but starved of clarity. KPIs were scattered, websites underperforming, and strategic plans collecting dust. I knew I could help. But I also knew I wanted to do it differently.

The Vision: Strategy Meets Flexibility

Starting my own consultancy gave me the freedom to work with businesses I believe in, whether it’s a dental clinic refining its patient journey or a fashion resale brand scaling globally. I get to dive deep into operations, build growth plans, and deliver measurable impact. But I also get to choose when and how I work.

Flexibility isn’t just a perk. It’s a priority.

The Family Factor

Running my own business means I can be present for the moments that matter. School runs, family dinners, spontaneous days out, I’m no longer trading time for someone else’s schedule. I can structure my week around both client needs and family life, without compromise.

It’s not always easy. There are late nights, tight deadlines, and the constant hum of responsibility. But the trade-off is worth it: I’m building something that reflects my values, not just my skill set.

The Work That Drives Me

At Data Focus Consulting, I help businesses:

  • Build actionable KPI frameworks

  • Optimize websites for speed and conversion

  • Visualize strategic growth with diagrams and timelines

  • Make smarter decisions using data—not guesswork

And I do it in a way that’s lean, focused, and tailored. No bloated retainers. No generic advice. Just clarity, structure, and results.

What I’ve Learned

Starting a business is a leap. But it’s also a lens, one that sharpens your priorities and forces you to define success on your own terms. For me, success is impact and flexibility. It’s helping businesses grow while staying grounded in the life I’m building with my family.

If you’re thinking about making a similar leap, here’s my advice: build something that reflects who you are, not just what you do.
